What if you can achieve 7% lower CII, simply by applying corrections to your data?

Before investing in costly retrofits to reduce fleet’s carbon footprint and ensure competitiveness in the new “CII terms”, a shipowner should first grab the lowest hanging fruit: Apply the CII correction factors.

By measuring and reporting the right data to the verifiers, an LR tanker can reduce yearly CII by 7% (see example above), just by correcting for cargo discharging and heating. It may sound obvious to register this data, however, if you are a shipowner and have not yet taken any actions on this, rest assured that you are not the only one.
