Your Role

As our R&D Project Manager, you'll spearhead groundbreaking projects, including a 3-year initiative funded by Innovation Fund Denmark to develop a mathematical model for predicting biofouling and its impact on ship efficiency. You'll be at the forefront of creating state-of-the-art products that keep VPS as the market leader in vessel performance management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of advanced models to drive fleet efficiency for our clients 

  • Manage the biofouling model project, collaborating with industry partners 

  • Define project objectives and requirements with key stakeholders 

  • Inspire and guide cross-functional teams to achieve exceptional outcomes 

  • Ensure cost-efficient project management and high-quality deliverables 

  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer needs and escalations 

Qualifications

  • Master's or PhD in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Machine Learning, or related field 

  • Experience in the shipping industry or academia is highly desirable 

  • Strong analytical skills and research abilities 

  • Proven project management expertise 

  • Proficiency in building and calibrating mathematical models 

  • Knowledge of software development processes 

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Your Role

We are looking for a candidate that can participate in further developing our platform VESPER for analysis of performance data as well as support our clients with decision support related to optimizing the operation of their fleet. You will evaluate performance trends and turn operational data into valuable decision support. Our SLGreen project, alongside industry partners, will conduct frontline research and development to improve modelling capabilities, expanding your abilities to transform advanced mathematical models into value adding software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support our exapnding client base with valuable decision support

  • Help further develop our vessel and fleet performance system

  • Use in-house developed analysis tools to evaluate performance trends across client fleets

  • Help provide compliance support​

Profile & Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a background as a naval architect or engineer who is familiar with:

  • Ship Hydrodynamics (Propulsion, Sea keeping, Maneuvering)

  • Performance Management and/or Analysis

  • Profound knowledge from inside a shipping company (operations/technical)

  • Experience from working with anti-fouling systems, hull & propeller maintenance

  • Data Analysis/Data Mining/System Identification

  • Programming (.Net, Python)

  • Advanced Excel Analytics
