Vessel Performance Solutions is looking for a Vessel Performance Manager to join our Greek office in Athens. The Greek office’s mission is to expand the company’s portfolio to the Greek market and ensure local support of its Greek clientele. The Vessel Performance Manager will collaborate daily with the head of the Greek office, as well as with the rest of VPS team located in company’s headquarters in Copenhagen. Apart from the work with VPS’s clients, the Vessel Performance Manager will also participate in company’s software development projects.


Company Description

Vessel Performance Solutions (VPS) is a company that specializes in analysis of performance data from commercial ships and provides decision support for energy efficiency, fuel savings, CO2 footprint reduction, environmental compliance, and operational performance.

VPS main office is in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2014. In June 2021 we opened a VPS branch office in Athens to increase sales efforts and provide local support for our Greek clients. Today we have in our service more than 1200 vessels with the segments of Bulk, Tank, Container and Ro-Ro vessels. Our VESPER platform is currently used by ship owners, ship managers and ship operators.

VPS roadmap is to develop our services in the direction of state-of-the-art performance management services and utilize the exciting world of Digitalization to maximize the value of our services. This includes evaluation of anti-fouling paint systems, condition-based hull and propeller maintenance, retrofit projects, advanced diagnostics, human factors, consolidated dashboards and voyage optimization. Another area of increasing importance is the environmental landscape with EU MRV/Fuel EU, IMO DCS/CII, and emission trading.

Our DNA is to conduct first class customer support and at the same time use our academic background to improve our modeling capabilities to constantly improve our value proposition to our customers.

Key Responsibilities of the Vessel Performance Manager will be to:

  • Actively explore ideas for improving VESPER decision support for our clients.

  • Drive various developments for the performance management platform VESPER, product owner.

  • Innovate new services that further brings VESPER decision support to the forefront of technology.

  • Manage / participate in future development projects, such as Shipping Lab II, Joint Industry Projects etc.

  • Act as key account manager:

    • On-board and train new clients.

§ Setup and monitor the fleet performance of the vessels in VESPER, detect issues with data quality and investigate cases of low performance.

§ Build and maintain ship models of new vessel classes.

§ Assist VPS’s clients in interpreting changes in performance indicators by analyzing data, trends and simulation results.

  • Develop and maintain interfaces to clients’ different data collection systems.

  • With focus on the Greek shipping market, actively participate in company’s sales efforts.


Qualifications

  • Team player with good communication skills, able to take initiatives, eager to assume responsibilities and deliver results.

  • University degree in Naval Architecture and / or Marine Engineering.

  • Experience with vessel performance management is an advantage.

  • Proficient English speaker.

  • Good programming skills, experience in coding in Python, C#/C/C++, SQL will be a plus.

  • Knowledge and understanding of vessel performance principles and maritime environmental regulations.

Additional Information

The place of work will be the VPS office in Athens, currently located at Kifissias 16, Athens, 11526. However, working in Copenhagen for 4-6 weeks per year is to be expected.
