Lauritzen is together with Vessel Performance Solutions developing a Vessel Performance Decision Support system in the INNO+ project. In Lauritzen we have been using the system extensively during the last year with the result that we now have a much better overview of the performance of our fleet, including both owned vessels as well as chartered vessels. Because of the decision support provided by the system we have been able to improve the operation of our vessels. We expect with the planned developments to have a very strong tool for the future that will become an integrated part of our operation.

Together with Vessel Performance Solutions, TORM is developing a Vessel Performance Decision Support system in the INNO+ project. In TORM, a significant effort has been made in the last year to improve the performance of our vessels using this system and we have significant proven results on hull and propeller performance as well as an improved understanding of our vessels’ performance during this year. Together, we are continuously improving the system capabilities in the project and expect to have a system in place soon that will further improve the technical as well as the operational performance of our fleet,.

CPO Containerschiffreederei conducted together with Vessel Performance Solutions a study of the performance of our Super-Postpanmax vessels. The in-depth expertise of VPS developing hydrodynamic models of our ships compared with our excellent voyage management database enable intelligent fleet benchmarking against baselines. VPS data quality assessment confirmed the quality of our data and VPS service then allows assessing the improvement of ship performance after dry-dockings, hull and propeller cleanings, the quality of antifouling paint and supports deriving condition based fuel consumption tables.
Moreover, this cost-effective on demand expertise from VPS enables quantifying fuel saving potentials as well as a class internal vessel ranking at a glance. We are looking forward to future projects with VPS supporting considerable decisions on management level.
